Warm up
Into Battle
Move around the space by walking, jogging, slow-motion walking and marching. Use changing pathways and keep to your own space.
When the teacher calls out a word, freeze in a suitable position:
‘March’
‘Shield’
‘Fight’
‘Protect’
Model the most creative and effective shapes that show high or low movements.
Main
Arthur’s Feast
- Develop four movements into a solo, using the words from our warm-up:
‘March’
‘Shield’
‘Fight’
‘Protect’
Remember the dynamics of the movements, e.g. how performing a movement slowly can add tension; how being strong and jerky can show aggression; etc
- Find a partner. Teach each other your solos and perform them together in unison (at the same time).
Be sure to have a clear start and finish position.
- Half the class perform to the others. Audience: give positive feedback for improvements. Swap over and repeat.
