Ordering
How long will my lesson take to arrive?
Your downloads are delivered automatically, as soon as you complete your online order. You will then be directed to a confirmation page, containing links to your downloads. These will be emailed to the address you provided during checkout. If you order offline (by fax, telephone or email), this will be done manually on the next available working day.
When will I get my CD?
CDs are printed to order and usually dispatched on the next available working day following receipt of your order. During periods of high demand – or during school holidays – this may take longer.
Lessons
Is all the music included?
Yes – each lesson has tracks to support the work. These may be previewed from the lesson pages. Full versions are included as mp3s when you download and may be ordered on a separate CD.
Do I need to demonstrate the dance moves in the lesson?
No. All the lessons derive movement from your pupils’ own ideas and explorations. You do not need to be a specialist in any way to deliver this. Simply discuss the themes and topics as you would in any other lesson, then direct the children according to the plan provided.
Why is there so little text in the lessons?
The schemes are kept as simple as possible so they may be used easily as you teach. For more specific guidance, separate teaching notes are provided within the supplementary files that come with each plan. And you can always contact us should you require any additional help.
How is the music appropriate?
The music has been chosen by the lesson authors to create suitable stimulation, atmospheres and rhythmic support. It is not always what you might expect but this is with good reason. We want to avoid simple mime or cliché and rather promote children’s physical exploration of a theme or topic.
Licencing
Do I need a licence to use the lesson?
No. You may purchase individual lessons as required OR take up a Licence. The licence gives unlimited online access to all the materials. This is suitable for both schools or individuals that want the flexibility and savings this provides. A range of bonus materials is also available to holders of any Licence.
About Dance Notes
Why haven’t I heard of Dance Notes before?
That’s a very good question. Dance Notes has been available, in one form or another, since 1992. Back at the start, it was a purely music-based service, supplying teachers with original tracks for Dance teaching. Over the years it has evolved into the fully integrated online resource you now see before you.
Where can I read testimonials?
You will find scrolling quotations – taken from emails to the publisher Madmusik – on each of the main pages of this site . We think they speak for themselves but you are always welcome to get in touch with any questions.
What can I do if my question isn’t answered here?
Please visit the ‘Contact Dance Notes‘ page, where you will find the email address, postal address, telephone number and an online contact form.
